Topwell TW-32-QVF Bed Type Milling Machine with 6,000 RPM Spindle manual and CNC versions available |
The Topwell TW-32-QVF milling machine is available with 7 1/2 Hp quill type head as shown to the right or with a 10 Hp machining centre type head
The 7 1/2 Hp to 15 Hp vector drive head is available with your choice of back geared or direct drive. Direct drive speed range 75 to 4,000 or 100 to 6,000 rpm. via belt change. Back geared ranges 15 to 750 and 75 to 6,000. This milll has a 12" x 50" table with 20" travel on Y and 20" travel on the column. The axes are driven by CNC class Yaskawa AC servo motors with variable feed rates on each axis independently. This allows an easy and economical upgrade to CNC in the future with a Fagor control. The Acu-Rite Millpwr G2 control is popular in this seraies. They come with ballscrews on all 3 axes as standard, Hardened and ground ways with Turcite counterslides, telescopic steel covers on Y, coolant system and chip pan, worklight etc. . |

This is the machining center style head available on the TW-32 frame. The cost is about the same as as the quill head. |
CNC UPGRADE PATH IS BUILT IN To the right is the electronics cabinet of the VF series. The amplifiers for the X, Y and Z feeds ( Z axis is the ~20" feed on the column ) This is the same series amplifier and servo motors that we have used for years on the Anilam controlled machines that we build. The top left corner of the panel is empty for future installation of a CNC, Only a few minor components in this cabinet and changing the pendant for a CNC operator's control panel are required for an upgrade. The servo motors and amplifiers, spindle control, ballscrews, Turcite slideways, way covers etc are all already on the VF machines. Ballscrews, automatic lube, servo axis drives, AC variable speed spindle drive and motor, limit switches are all standard. These items are all built in already so a future upgrade to a full CNC is very economical. |

To the left is the control pendant for the VF series. The current models come with the Acu_Rite 200S as standard equipment. Controls on the Panel: At the top left is the spindle speed display. Under the display is the speed setting knob and the forward - stop - reverse switch. In the middle and are under the white safety bar making them a bit hard to see are the joysticks for axis selection Just below the joysticks are the geared knobs for sensitive feed rate setting. Feed rates are displayed on the digital readout. On the knee mills X and Y have the feed knobs and the vertical knee lift just had the joystick for rapid positioning. On the bed mill versios all 3 axes have feed knobs. Below the feed knobs are the yellow buttons for the rapid traverse for each axis. The lower switches are for the worklight and coolant on the left and an E-stop on the right. |

The Topwell line is also availabe with the new Acu-Rite G2 Control. It is available in 2 or 3 axis configurations, We recommend the upgraded axis drive system. We do the retro-fit in our shop. It is worth noting that compared to a knee mill retro-fit this offers 20" of travel on the Z axis compared to about 5" on a knee mill quill. |
